About the Artists
Elena Roznovan is a graduate student working on her MRA in sculpture work. She mentioned she liked to explore into phenomenology. Roznovan creates this concept by using a projector to change the perspective of images.
Roznovan uses a projector to display a video of a sunrise as the main piece of her exhibition. Part of her exhibition are transparent colored frames. This piece makes you look at the art from a specific point of view. Placed in the back of the exhibition is a bench which promotes the idea of getting out of a fast pace mindset.
Elena Roznovan creates this relaxing atmosphere as you walk in. The slow sunrise video promotes a calm soothing mood. Together these two aspects make beautiful sensations of peace and tranquility. The hanging frames added an aesthetically pleasing site along with a pretty color change. Viewing the sunrise in different color schemes created a more enjoyable scene.
Elena’s exhibition made me feel relaxed and calm. She mentioned she created this piece to let the viewer see time happening outside of when it happened. I thought this concept was extremely intriguing to view time that had already happened so beautifully crafted. At first I was impatient and just wanted to see the sunrise already but that made think what is the real purpose of that so I asked. The answer she gave me was really neat. She said the purpose for it was to break peoples fast paced mentality and enjoy the little things in life. Roznovan’s art created a motto for me that I would like to follow for the rest of my life, stop and enjoy the little things in life.
